May 21, 2011: Why the world will not end and there will be no secret rapture

May 20, 2011 – No, the world is not ending on May 21, 2011 and the Bible does not call the day Judgment Day. We should avoid setting dates for any end of the world events. The Bible clearly states that the timing of Christ’s second coming is unknown to himself or to the angels in heaven: “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.” Matthew 24:36. Christ repeatedly told his disciples that the sequence and timing of such end-time events was in the hands of his Father only. Just before his accession, Christ made this salient point again with his disciples when they asked him if it was time to restore the nation of Israel. “And he said unto them, it is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.” Acts 1:7 Yet men, who are made a little lower than the angels, claim to know what has been secreted from the ages, hidden from human eyes, and is privileged to the Most High only. Christ warned his disciples:  “Watch ye therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” Matthew 24:42.  There are two other vital points about Christ’s coming worth mentioning: Every eye shall see the coming and all nations shall mourn because of His unexpected return. (Rev 1:7, Matt 24:30) Only He who made the world has the power to decide its end. This right of judgment resides in the authority and power of God, “who created all things by Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 3:9. Out of loving reverence and trust for the Creator, we should be careful about claiming rights and knowledge that is reserved to His providence along. Job 11:7. Man is called to stand firmly on the word of God as his foundation of truth and not on his interpretation of it. Christ came to this Earth, suffered an ignominious death and brought healing and light to human souls to demonstrate the true nature and loving character of the very God which was shrouded in the shadows and lies instigated by the fallen Lucifer. After this disappointment, thousands must live with frayed hopes and a faith that is in tatters because it rests more in the hands of men than it does in the promises and Word of the Almighty.

    Thanks for that. It was very well written. The world needs less christians and more quiet believers who act like Jesus and hopefully only work locally where everything matters. The politics/believer thing really gets me. I do believe though (and it may not be backed by any particular verse) that we as believers have an obligation to confront these people, the vatican/pope/ and Fred Phelps (God hates gays), etc. It isn’t local but it certainly affects our non-believing friends. CNN has had a field day with this and a lot of it is our fault for not being involved. Great website and thanks sincerely for what you do.

    Thanks Bro, at first I got a bit scared that the world was ending. After a bit of research, I realized that he already made a wrong prediction, he was pulling millions of dollars from donations making it a possible scam, and what you listed here in this wonderful article. Though, what sucks is, that if this is somehow true – actually, wait its not, earthquakes were supposed to happen at 6:00 AM everywhere according to their timeline, so Japan should’ve been stuck many hours ago, along with other places. But anyways, if it was true, and lets just say I didn’t go to Heaven, than by God, I would end up in 6 months of Earth, ‘dying,’ and than spend eternity in Hell. )’:

    Thanks for posting this and I agree with another poster, ‘Right On’ 🙂 very beautifully said

    I see Christ love through all of you who say kind and thoughtful things and care about your fellow man. It is so hard to confront those people who are false prophets,etc. Like those who say God hates because they attack you as well and it’s down right scary I made the mistake once of saying kindly to a personthat God doesnt hates God is love God hates sin not the sinner He died to save us sinners. Christ said the most important thing is to love, Love God and love one another. They fail at doing that and that alone shows they are not true followers of Christ. But I shall pray for them to find the Truth and stop their hatred.

    God Bless you all

According to the 14th chapter of the Book of Revelation, a stirring last message to the world identifying God as Creator and He along should be worshipped, Babylon is fallen and the plagues will fall on any who have received the mark of the beast or the number of his name. The four angels also lets go of the four winds of destruction that are about to blow upon the world, after the servants of God are sealed in their foreheads. Revelation 7:1-3. These events have not yet transpired….

      Further, the stone representing the coming Christ’s kingdom smashes the statue of the world’s kingdoms on the feet of 10 toes (a future confederation of 10 kingdoms) according to Daniel 2:41-45.

    It’s a shame when people give such bold predictions, especially since God warned against this many times. His prediction seems to be based on misinterpetation of the scriptures and he really seems to believe what he says.

    According to the Bible, once Israel became a nation, the “Rapture” could happen any time. On the other hand, events that precede the “Second coming” (end of time), have not taken place. There are years between the 2 events, not days as he stated.

    • And to add, the word Rapture (Latin) appears nowhere in the Bible—– this is a contrived artifice of man and we know what happens to building a house on the sand as Christ warned.

      • J Guffey says:

        Just wondering Alvin, are you saying you do not believe in the rapture? I know there are differences of opionion among believers on this subject.
        You’re correct, the word “rapture” is nowhere in the Bible, but the event is. According to my interpretation of the scriptures, at the time of the rapture the saved meet Jesus in the air. He does not put His feet on the earth yet. He then returns to Heaven with his children.
        At the end of the Tribulation period He returns to Earth with His children.
        But at the “second coming” after the Tribulation period, He actually steps on Earth. The ones taken at this time (unsaved) will be taken to be judged. The ones left here then will be the ones spiritually saved during the Tribulation. They will continue to be here during the Millineum: marrying, working, having children, etc.
        Instead of quoting the scriptures, below is a site with numerous scriptures / chart comparing the two events.

        Thanks again for all the work you do and God bless.

      • I have never liked the word ‘rapture’ and find it to be a misnomer as the Bible described events. What do we know about the 2nd coming:
        1). The date is unknown. (Matt 14:36) 2). Every nation shall mourn because of Christ’s unexpected return (Matt. 24:30, Rev 1:7) – 3). Every eye shall see him so it is no secret (Matt. 24:27, Rev 1:7) 4). He stays in the clouds when he returns the 2nd time (Matt 24:30, 1 Thess. 4:16, 17) 5). Though another judment occurs during the thousand years in heaven- Judgment precedes the 2nd coming as Christ is coming to reward every man according to his work (Rev 22:12) 6). The wicked are slayed by the brightness of His coming. There is no one left behind alive on Earth. (2 Thess. 2:8, Revelation 6:17- For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? The Psalmist answers this question: “Who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. Psalm 24:3,4. Christ likens his 2nd coming of judgment to 2 distinct events in Biblical history, the Flood- the righteous are saved, and the wicked are destroyed: “And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the days of the Son of Man.They did eat, they drank, they married wives, and were given in marriage until the day that Noah entered into the Ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.” and the second example: “Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought and sold, they planted and they builded, but the day came that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimestone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Thus shall it be in the days the Son of man is revealed.” Luke 17:26-30 There is no one left behind alive. “And the slain of the Lord shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth…they shall not be lamented…neither buried, they shall be as dung upon the ground.” Jeremiah 25:33. And yes, you are right- Christ comes after the great Tribulation, not before. (Matthew 24:21, Revelation 6:11)

        Thanks JG.

      The planet’s darkest hour, is the time for the children of light to shine. Christ did not take his disciples to heaven with him; instead they were to be his witnesses in all the world teaching all nations about the character, word and testament of God beginning at Jerusalem. (Matthew 28:19). Greater works were they to do than his. John 14:12. A planet in crisis, a world bristling with ethnic tension, foreign lands,christened by the tears of the lonely and the cries of the poverty-stricken and broken-hearted, don’t need more saints in heaven- it needs more of the pure of heart here engaged in the unselfish work of healing and sharing.

I also believe false prophets have planted seeds of doubt for our generation. 12/21/2012 may be the beginning of the end for some.     Hebrews 1:13 states;
    And God never said to the angels “Sit in the place of honour at my right hand until I humble your enemies making them a footstool under your feet” Therefore, agnels are only servants-spirits sent to care for people who will inherit salvation.
    Hebrews 2:14 states;
    Because God’s children are human beings, made of flesh and blood, the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death.
    Hebrews 2:16 states;
    We also know that the Son did not coe to help angels, he came to help the descendants of Abraham. Therefore, it was necessary for him to be made in every respect like us, his brothers and sisters so that he could be our merciful and faithful High Priest before God.

    How then can we have been made a little lower than the angels. Christ died for ‘US’ not the angels

    Like

    • Pauline, the Bible says: “What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and horour.” Psalm 8:4,5 -Hebrews 2:7, and again “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he, by the grace of God should taste death for every man.” Hebrews 2:9.

      What is this referring to? Man was made out of the dust of the ground: “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground.” Genesis 2:7. And “For He knoweth our frame (composition); He remembereth that we are dust.” Psalm 103:14. Angels are not made of dust. They are spirit. The Bible says “Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire.” Psalm 104:4. The sacrifice of Christ raises man up into the divine adoption as sons of God. For Christ came “to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.” Galatians 4:5. At last, when the human family is reunited with the majesty of heaven, only then will man begin to understand the enormous sacrifice and love that cost the life of the Son of the Highest at the hand of human brutality and cruel mockings. Man will be elevated to a place beyond the angels, as though he had never fallen. He shall be changed, in the twinkling of an eye and clothed with immortality and a spiritual body. (1 Cor. 15:52,53) Throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity, the richness and wonders of God’s love for man will forever unfold and the redeemed will join in a chorus of praise which no angel can sing “Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” Revelation 1:5,6.

    I’m sorry but I think you are all taking the bible far too literally. You all miss interpret god and cloud everything with religious jargon like a cult. The bible is for reference, the church know this, why do you think they keep a library of old information under lock and key. It’s not full of bibles is it! God is everything, Jesus isn’t in you god is! Not as a deity but as spirit. Your very life blood if you will! God cares nothing of good or evil or sin. God is the very conscience of everything, god is our laws of Physics, our earth, our sun, the very time and space, the dimensions of our existence. To think of god like a man is madness! The world must recharge it’s shields, the planets core is starting to heat up, it heats our oceans, the oceans heat our atmosphere. The internal dynamo will flip and spin, melt and power up. The magnetic field will recharge and man will experience this for it’s 4/5 recorded time. As alvin states, man will have to adapt to the changes caused by this process, it has nothing to do with god! Man is less sinful now than it has been in 1000’s of years! It’s rubbish, I believe in god, not your god, why would god destroy apart of itself for no reason. It’s cycle, it’s the divine universal Plan!

    I cannot reply above, as there is no link to reply to – this being your response in regard to the several things the Bible has to say, which do not include a rapture.

    It is in regard to this item:

    5). Though another judment occurs during the thousand years in heaven- Judgment precedes the 2nd coming as Christ is coming to reward every man according to his work (Rev 22:12)

    Here is my question, you might know this and to me, it is confusing.

    It is said that a man is judged by his faith, not by his deeds, because if he was judged by his deeds, then it would be based on a vanity, that of a man-sourced instead of God-sourced belief of what the man has been doing was essentially “good deeds” – which might not have been in accord with the Bible nor done under faith in God. Therefore, it is said that judgement is based on faith, not on deeds.

    Yet, in the quotation you cite, and I have read this too, it says that judgement at the end times will be based on a man’s works, or deeds.

    Is this not a contradiction in the Bible – because most people seem to cling to judgement based on faith, not deeds – yet this is true, in this other part you cite, it claims judgement based on works -which seems contradictory to me?

    • Abraham believed God and it was imputed to him for righteousness.” James 2:23. We are justified by faith in the atonement made by Christ on Calvary. (Romans 5:1). The judgment is another matter entirely. The Bible describes a universe that is not irrational and random but all things are under the watchful governence of God Almighty whether men acknowledge it or not. Every thought, word and deed is to be brought into the judgment before the Creator of man. “For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” Eccl 12:14. If the soul has accepted Christ and his redemptive sacrifice, his sins are blotted out and his name is written in the Lamb’s book of Life. When the work of judgment is completed in heaven, Christ will no longer mediate his blood sacrifice for men and every case on Earth will be decided. (Revelation 22;11). Those who do not accept Christ fully or who are still unrepentant – are blotted out of the Book of Life. (Revelation 3:5). This has been the case since the beginning of time. God told Moses, “And the Lord said unto Moses, Whosoever sinneth against me, him will I blot out of my book.” Exodus 32:33. This is where the meaning of who Christ is not understood by the world. Adam, Abel, Seth, Enoch, Lamech, Noah, Melchizedek, Abraham, Moses, the Levites ——— Christ. There has never been a time on Earth where someone was not mediating as high priest between man and the divine in the confession of sins that was to foreshadow the sacrifice of the Lamb of God on the cross on Calvary. When Christ returns, his reward is with him “to give every man according as his work shall be.” Revelation 22:12, Daniel 12:2.

    Isn’t Camping just the child of Christian exoteric apocalyptic interpretations? The greatest crime has been taking a two thousand year old book out of its historical context and imposing it upon our own vision of the future.
