The USGS reported an earthquake? Apparently this one is too big to hide.

My sentiments too Tom. Which sight do you find to be most reliable in reporting quakes?

      • For Earthquakes I normally check the following link because they pull the earthquakes from USGS, but they don’t update the ‘edits’ from USGS afterwards, so you don’t see earthquakes disappear minutes later (like Yellowstone some time ago, this was one the few websites showing them afterwards): http://quakes.globalincidentmap.com/

maybe there are better ones ?

        Hello Tom and J,

Why do you feel that the USGS is not reliable? I use their site to monitor earthquakes and I am curious about what information I may be missing. For instance, on yesterday’s list of “Latest Earthquakes Magnitude 2.5 or Greater in the United States and Adjacent Areas and Magnitude 4.5 or Greater in the Rest of the World – Last 7 days” there were about 45 quakes listed. Is this not accurate? I look forward to seeing what other organizations are more reliable. Thanks!

@ Josephine…USGS..removes data!. at first I didn’t believe it when I read it on a forum…until I saw it myself.there was an earthquake in Santa Clarita on the 21 and Northridge…I printed the fisrt one to prove it…then it was gone..the next day it was back but was gone again before the end of the day. the northridge one was only there for that hour and was gone too. I’ve checked the list and wasn’t there

USGS does their Masters’ bidding. They will compromise science for Corporate Government anytime! I do not say this lightly or without facts to back this up. My home and water well, along with 100’s of others, was damaged by the collapse and flooding of the largest salt mine in the Americas. ( AKZO-Nobel Retsof mine). USGS assissted the corporation in trivializing and minimizing the extent of the damages that occurred and continue to, as I write. They even allowed AKZO to get away with calling the deliberate collapse of their failing mine an “earthquake”, rather than earth movements, vast sinkholes, billions and billions of fresh water flowing into 18 square miles of salt cavities that caused the resultant numerous readings on their seismographs. In my opinion, they are criminal in their obfuscation of what is really happening in our country. Alvin, i apologize for the length of this post but it is important for people to know this information. I have documentation and won a lawsuit that proves what i am saying and will be glad to provide you with this info if desired. Thank you again and again for this site, you and it are truly a blessing!

Has anyone noticed that if you got to: http://quakes.globalincidentmap.com/ you’ll find that most of the activity has moved to the eastern side of the ring of fire? Could this be a new trend? I personally feel that here in the US. our days were numbered. So many other places that sit on or near faults are being ripped to shreds while we get away unscathed. We are WAY overdue for a major earthquake. Also there are many people who are being deliberately cruel to the Japanese and others in their times of crisis and I think that is very bad karma. Who knows for sure, but that map sure looks strange.
