UN report warns bees now disappearing worldwide

March 21, 2011 For several decades, colony collapse disorder (CCD) — a mysterious condition where entire bee colonies die for seemingly no obvious reason — has been inflicting bee populations across both Europe and the US. But scientists from the United Nations (UN) say the phenomenon is now a global crisis, afflicting bees across China, Japan, and Africa, as well as in other places. The report, issued by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), explains what many NaturalNews readers already know — mainly that without bees, there will be no more food. Bees are one of nature’s primary pollinators, and over 70 percent of the world’s food supply relies on them to grow. “Human beings have fabricated the illusion that in the 21st century they have the technological prowess to be independent of nature,” said Achim Steiner, UN Under-Secretary-General and UNEP Executive Director. “Bees underline the reality that we are more, not less, dependent on nature’s services in a world of close to seven billion people.” One such mode of “technological prowess” is the flagrant and irresponsible use of genetically-modified organisms (GMO). GMO technology is heavily reliant on the use of toxic pesticides and herbicides, which several recent studies have pinned to the widespread bee deaths. In January, a leaked document revealed that the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) actually knowingly approved a bee-killing pesticides known as clothianidin. This Bayer CropScience chemical has been identified as a primary instigator of CCD, and yet it has remained freely available on the market since 1993 when the EPA first approved it. Nature News

The EPA is just another unit in this money oriented corrupt government. The thought that they are out to protect us is hilarious. I tried to get a sad and dangerous practice being permitted by city and state government in utah stopped for 5 years. It is still going on. What are they there for. Looks and big taxpayer supplied easy living. If they did their job the world would be better off but don’t hold your breath!!!

The bee keeper that I get my supply of honey from ( organic bee keeper ) told me that he is having to go to Cnanda to get his bees as his colonies are in total collapse. He went down to Geaorgia, USA in 2010 and said that he was greeted by a most eerie sight in the meadows where hives are kept; Silence. He said that he heard not a cricket, not a bird or frog or any other creature that is natural to those woodland meadows. Just recounting the story, I could see, was causing him some intense uneasiness.

We started talking about the plethora of Monsanto crops all around us in the little village of Marlette and he seemed to think that this had something to do with it but he was not convinced.
I would hazard to say that the man-made destructive forces are colliding with the natural ones and a hell like none ever described ( not even in Dante’s Inferno ) will descend upon our species leaving us …perhaps for the first time in modern history…… speechless. I know that I would love to hear some speak more and others less ….or not at all.

Wow! I have actally been following this story for a number of years. My stepdad used to raise honeybee’s and had problems then, 20 years ago, with a whole hive dying or just leaving, which usually means the queen died. I didn’t realize it was going on worlwide and getting this bad though. Many people are unaware of how vital bee’s are to the food supply. My friend Linda and I were just talking the other day about the rising food prices and shortages going on due to weather and natural disasters. This is yet one more sign we are close to the last days……For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and Earthquakes in place after place………..Matthew 24:7

The truth is far more devastating and controversial than any chemical or pesticide.

We are killing the bees! The use of cell phones is destroying the bee populations. It all started in the mid 90’s when only 10% of the world used them. We are now encroaching on 2/3 of the world’s population using a cell phone and the bees are all dying. The proof is irrefutable.

Are you kidding me organic bee farmers are gonna be fine? WTF do you honestly think first off that those bee’s would not fly to the flowers/plants not contaminated with this pestacide? think they have a danager indicator to warn them what flowers to eat or not? honesty think organic stuff is 100% organic? your a moron! nothing is 100% organic EVER! the organic ferts? they were made in an unnatural way! not just the simple death/fertilzer in the wild! there making it with something and cleaning it with something and taking out uneeded addatives with something! I just HOPE not everyone thinks jesus will come save us! LOL we did this all to our selfs now we must live with it! to quote obama the money’s been spent! now we gotta pay it back!

Does anybody have data by town and state (or at least county and state) where CCD is occurring. The maps posted by state are to expansive to test an hypothesis about ILFN (Infrasonic low ffequency noise) causing these problems emanating from the nations natural gas pipeline systems. Keep an open mind here, this is something that’s becoming very plausible.

    Hello,

I have found the answer and solution to help honeybees deal with the parasitic mite varroa and stop honeybees dying using a bio-dynamic natural phenomenon, without using chemicals or man-made product. It is a world exclusive! This makes all my queens/bees, regardless of specie, varroa resistant.

During my research I have found Chemical companies, in the UK, have a stranglehold on beekeeping associations and honeybee science. So if a natural answer was found, like mine, it would never or could not be accepted.

It is controversial, political and topical but very important for mankind. What I have found allows honeybees to deal with varroa naturally, so I have very few mites or none at all.
Is that impossible? Not at all, you just have to go back to beyond mankind, before we tried to domesticate honeybees and watch what they do, the logic is easy, and then common sense prevails.

I have kept honeybees for 30 years, up to 300 colonies, always looking outside the box always questioning, why? Please remember I am not a scientist, just a passionate beekeeper. All this has been done by observation, experimentation and research hence why it has taken so long.

20 years ago when the parasitic mite Varroa hit our shores we, beekeepers, were told to use chemicals by Bayer, the same company that part funds the BBKA. (British Beekeepers Association). At the beginning, for 2 years, I treated with these chemicals but each year I lost 30% of my queens, not the workers, just the queens, queen cells were made but as this was out of season, there were few or no drones for mating, so it could not be supercedure.

I complained to the BBKA and to Bayer, naturally I was told to go away as no-one else had complained, and prove it…….How could an individual do that?????

Most hobby beekeepers only keep less than 10 hives so if they lost one or two, then that was acceptable, at that time I was running over a hundred so 30% was a huge loss. Immediately I stopped all treatment of chemicals and sugar, much to the disgust of fellow beekeepers, hoping that one day I would find a natural answer. After 20 years of individual heartache and research I have found that answer which is a world exclusive.

It is unfortunate that when I approach companies like the BBC, ITV or large organisation supporting honeybees (W I or Co-op) they refer to the BBKA, for advice, who are biased due to chemical funding, for some sort of ratification that I am bone-fide.
You must realise the BBKA, IBRA or DEFRA have their own financial agenda so are unwilling to be associated with me or my book, as a natural answer is allegedly NOT a top priority or acceptable to them, due to chemical infiltration of funding.

I hope I am making myself clear. I am a single beekeeper up against the might of the hierarchy of beekeeping and a chemical giant that has too much influence.

My book was the only way I could be heard, that is now selling around the world,
“An HOLISTIC Way in Saving the Honeybee”.
Available through Northern Bee Books http://www.groovycart.co.uk/beebooks or Amazon.

I hope you can now see how difficult it is to tell mainstream public that an answer is available without using chemicals.
When the rest of the beekeeping world catches up with my hypothesis, I may well be 6 foot under, but my hypothesis will become normal practice in 20 or 30 years time, if not before..
I do not mean to be a threat to anyone; pioneers happen unexpectedly, I am just a passionate beekeeper that has found the answer to save honeybees worldwide.
If I can help you in any way in saving your bees, by reducing varroa, increase your honey crop or if you would like my help to assist in any way, do not hesitate in contacting me.
My quest will never finish. All I want to do is help the honeybee and ask you to help me spread the word.
If you would like more free information, an updated summary of my book for publication on websites, newsletters or for TV or Radio production, please do not hesitate to contact me.

    Thank you for your time.

    Kind regards

“Without bees there will be no more food”? You’re kidding right? Hyperbole I hope!
Just maybe we shouldn’t have inflated the North American bee population by importing European honeybees in the first place. Crops are pollinated by many species of insect…..and birds…..and the wind! Not saying it’s not an issue. It is. But c’mon – overdramatizing things works against most causes.
