Ocean shaken by mysterious tremors in St. Augustine Florida?

March 18, 2011 – ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — The ground shook briefly this morning, but nobody seems quite sure why. First Coast News has received several calls, as has the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, about two tremors felt this morning around 9:30 am. Sheriff’s deputies are among those who reported feeling the shaking, and the Associated Press reported the tremors were felt in Flagler County as well. A geologist at the University of Florida said nothing showed up on any earthquake detecting equipment. The cause of the shaking is speculation at this point, but the sheriff’s office said the sensation was stronger near the ocean. No damage has been reported. –First Coast

    Were there no oceanic earthquakes that could account for this? Or could it have been connected to the Supermoon tonight? Normally I would say that the ground doesn’t shake for no reason, but that seems to be happening more often.

      There could be a connection with the lunar perigee. Earthquakes can create sonic booms and never rupture the ground. Plasma can also be discharged into the atmosphere and create luminous phenomena. We don’t fully understand this geological phenomenon because we’ve only glanced at them from afar. Stranger things are about to happen.

        Thursday morning ( around 3:30 am ) I was awakened to the sound of a loud “boom”. I opened my eyes and thought, “what was that?”. All the neighborhood dogs began to bark seconds after the noise.
        This event was unusual in that there were no thunderstorms in the area ( March in Michigan ) which would account for the loud, thunderous boom, and I am quite sure that blasting in our area would have been announced. Another thing that I found eerily odd was how the dogs respondedto the noise. There was a pause after the boom and then the dogs began to bark frantically. My dog ( an inside dog ) did not bark.

        It brought to mind the lithospheric fracturing to the north of me in Birch Creek Michigan last autumn. The lady said that there was a loud “boom” during the fracturing.

        Jamie, these reports are entirely consistent with the stress release of energy from a slip fault, subsidence or quake, which may or may not ever fracture the ground and in my book, I warned the ground (lithospheric fracturing) would began tearing across the planet.

      I know the conspiracy theories about the Gakona array abound but if we have the technology, Russia and China has it and what would it really take to destroy America without firing a bullet? How about microwaving the Yellowstone caldera, Long Valley or searing the San Andreas or tenderizing New Madrid or boiling the Great Lakes, which is about 172 meters above sea-level. America has so many vunerabilites to such weapons that is would be idiotic and suicidal to start using them as weapons for any reason- not to say someone isn’t doing it. Napoleon and Hitler’s simulataneous blunders with the Russian campaigns- never bite off more than you’re capable of chewing.

    I live in Palm Coast and it was strong enough form my two year old to come running to me yelling “truck scared you”and threw his arms up to be picked up.Thinking a large truck or piece of equipment had just rolled by my house, I carried my son outside to find nothing.

      John: I am glad I am not the only one about a week ago I heard exactly what the space shuttles sonic boom sounds like, but I knew the space shuttle had already landed. As for the tremor, I was getting out of the shower and my bathroom door just started shaking like crazy….even my dog was on alert…lol….

      I’m glad I found this post. About a month ago, my neighbors and I heard what we thought was a ‘Sonic Boom,’ here in Jacksonville, FL. I was sitting indoors; but, my windows and door to my balcony were open. It was so loud that it hurt my ears. A lot of people ran outside to see what it could’ve been; but, we never discovered anything. I looked immediately for posts/blogs/links for it in Jax; but, never found anything on it. It was pretty scary.

    About 2 months ago my wife went to the door to see what the noise outside was, I joined her to hear a roaring noise coming from the road in front of our house and it continued for about a minute with nothing to be seen. On another web site a man in Texas said he heard the noise at the same we did were in N. Idaho. It sounded like a Train or military tank.

    I felt it this morning at 930 exactly, very strong tremors. I live on the ocean in cresent beach. There was no mistaking it for anything but a small earthquake. It was incredibly scary and had my puppy wimpering and howling. Eeek! And right when i ran out of my house, I saw a plane making a Chem-trail 😦

    There are so many occurrences that are accelerating.
    I live in the county of Tucson, AZ, we have been hearing sonic booms for approximately six weeks now. Last night I was making some tea in my kitchen suddenly,I felt the floor move and then shake, however there was no sonic boom, it was actually very still it lasted for about a minute, I felt dizzy right after that. I am very sensitive to what Mother Earth is experiencing I assumed an earthquake had occurred in Baja California, I felt the one last April. No one in the home felt it, I was the only one standing at the time perhaps the reason. I went to check your site and then the earthquake monitoring system and nothing. Since childhood I have always seen and known more than others around me. Many visions come now and transmission from beings of light. We are told to be still and release any fear attached to the outcome. I am often seeing October 30, 2011 as a possible huge shift that will change Earth as we know it. Could it be the Maya calender is off? Not sure as of yet as we are scripting all of it as we go.

    It was around 9:30 and there was a boom followed by ground shaking a little. I Thought I was imagining the ground shaking part until I heard others had experienced it. I asked my husband to see if the space shuttle had landed thinking that would explain it.

    9:28am gutters/flashing rattled for about 15 seconds.

    Another occurance shortly afterwards. I didnt feel ground shake.

    Thought I heard rumblings of a sonic boom.

    I live in Palm Coast and as I stated above I experienced the tremor as I was getting out of the shower my bathroom door began to shake. My fiancee however was cooking breakfast and didn’t feel or hear a thing. I have talked to many people who felt and heard something related to whatever happened. At first our local news was saying there was no seismic (sp?) activity and no military offshore happenings. This morning they are reporting that it as most likely a seismic tremor and the only seismic recorder Florida has is in Orlando so it may have not picked up the tremor. I don’t understand this at all! I am 32 and have NEVER heard of Florida having tremors….what is going on????

    I live in Southern St. Augustine, about 5 miles from the beach. I was napping around 9:30 and woke to a low rumbling and something that, honestly, sounded like a sonic boom. The bed shook and the windows rattled throughout this episode. It startled me enough that I jumped out of bed and went outside to see what was going on. As we now know, there was nothing to see. The vibrations and rumbling reminded me of tremors I experienced once in a while in Indiana, where I’m from. Definitely not something I’d expect in a state with no fault lines!

    I’m surprised not many people are talking about the booming sound that accompanied the shaking, because I most definitely heard it (some people here say they didn’t even feel the tremors). At first I thought it could be something to do with construction nearby, but there is no construction for four miles around me. Now that I know a chunk of the state experienced it too and there’s no explanation forthcoming, I’m concerned. I’m no alarmist, but this is pretty unsettling.

    I was on the second floor of the Brevard County Gov’t Center in Viera (Melbourne)and felt a vibration and some light shaking while I was filling out some paperwork at 9:35 am on Friday. Could of been someone moving a large desk, but it was at the same time others up the coast reported the shake and boom. Interesting !!!

    Friday night I was in Texas, on a small trip. I was in a hotel room with my daughter. We were both asleep. Or at least I think I was “almost” asleep. I have been a VERY light sleeper lately. I heard an explosion or a boom. It woke me instantly, but there was nothing but silence in the room. I found it very hard to go back to sleep.
    Monday afternoon after having returned to Maryland, again, almost asleep on the couch for a nap and I was startled by another boom like explosion, but again, NOTHING was going on, complete silence. It is very odd and it has not happened again since those two occurences in different states…perhaps I am the one who is nuts? 😦

    I live on the west coast in Kitimat Britishcolumbia canada, and my mum told me they had similar incedent on march 14 last week. she heard alound boom noise. she thougth it was the snow on her roof falling off. but it wasnt. and a lady who walks my mums dog said she has heard a loud boom, and aparently there had been and earthquake that day or night.

If Japan and Christchurch….and Chile were not wake-up calls then I do not know what will compell the billions still in denial to open their eyes to the impending Shift.

    Even though this story is interesting to say the least, I have to say I’m more interested in one of the comments posted by Jamie. I live not far from Birch run myself and while I did read about some fracturing up in the U.P a couple years ago, on here of course, I hadn’t heard about that one and wonder how many more are happening and going unnoticed, either because of remote locations or the cracks just not breaking completely through. So now I guess I’m more curious than ever. Is this something that is a normal occurence and maybe just hasn’t been reported on much in the past or is it something new?

      Which came first, the chicken or the egg or which news service was the first to report it internet, tv or radio? Tina, these events have always happened but they’re frequency of occurrence have increased over the last few years like sinkholes despite critics saying more people are connected to info sources. I’ve been recording unexplained and such unusual phenomena since 2009 and I have noticed a dramatic increase in events. Often the events are reported only by remote local news agencies so they are never exposed in national or global coverage like, for example, this unusual story which I reported on in 2009.         This article brings to mind the I-35 Bridge collapse in Minneapolis. I don’t think that they ever came up with a theory of what caused the collapse.

      Tina, the lithospheric fracture happened in October of 2010 in Birch Creek, MI, which is on the northeastern side of Michigan. Birch Run is southwest of Birch Creek. I thought the same thing when I read that article the first time. I thought of Birch Run….don’t know why. Stay safe……

    Thanks for the clarification and extra info Jamie. Birch run is about 40 miles north of me and I guess that’s what caught my eye. I Think I might see if I can look that up. I lived near Army bases when I was young and have definetly heard a sonic boom before. All this is rather new to me and I have been trying to play catch up learning about the Lithosphere and plate tectonics. You stay safe as well and thanks again to you and TEP for all the great help.

    I am really getting nervous…… I live in central Florida . With everything happening people are changing becoming more aggressive and mean. I have seen a steady in crease in strange people and wierd weather increase in earthquakes and when I talk about it most people think I’m nuts but to tell you the truth I CAN “FEEL ” SOMETHING IS GOING TO CHANGE something is coming i wish I knew what is was . However, after reading the news about the location reported, I dismissed the connection because I assumed I was too far away. I guess I was wrong.     I sometimes feel like I am trying to solve a puzzle and that I am on the verge of “getting” it…then it just slips through my fingers again.
    I think it all boils down to this for me…I do not belong here, as a child of God. So, these things that come to pass must fulfill His prophecy and also prepare me to be ready to “let go” of this life and earthly things. It would be much harder to let go if this life was great all the time. These things that happen remind me that I do not belong here, this is not my home.
    🙂 I will continue to pray for peace, to remember that God is in control of all things, even this, and that these things must happen according to His will and purposes.

    March 18th at about 9:30am my office was hit hard by an earthquake? My windows and doors rattled and I ran outside to check the sky for aircraft. I’m located at less than 2,000ft from the ocean south of Saint Augustine. There were 2 hard tremors. First lasted about 7 to 10 seconds and second tremor was like a small after shock. It felt like the ground under my building was going to explode. My neighbors nearby asked me what it was, but I could not find anything on the news or seimic readings from Orlando. My best guess is this was an effect from the “super moon” and possibly caused some shifting in the aquafier below us. However the area effected appears to be larger than expected so, more like an un-recorded fault is near the Florida coast ? My other problem is the ocean wave action showed no changes, so where did it come from ?

    Connie- You are right and not nuts! You are actually seeing and feeling very clearly. Trust that! Things are changing, but don’t fear it. Focus on the positive people and good things and those are what you will draw to yourself. It is all a work in progress and we are not powerless in this. Pray/meditate and you will be helping. Maybe find a good yoga center or meditation group. Feel the light in you and don’t fear it.

    I looked on the canadian earthquake sight. There was quake on march 14 2011
    53.16n 129.nw 10/ 3.0 mag 32km wnw of kitimat. It is getting more and more scarier.

    I heard a loud boom sound under my house here west of phoenix, az. Scared my dog too. In the last few days (Now Aug 12th, 2011) got the strongest, and worst feeling something really bad is about to happen. I got the same type of feeling one month before the Sept. 11th, 2001 attack. I pray that God protects America. Yesterday, at work two other people agreed that it felt like time slowed way down, or even stopped in the afternoon. Could it be the earth shifting direction, or the meteor shower that’s going on tonight, or earth pressure? check out usgs quake map. Holy cow is it bad!!!!Streets keep getting new cracks, and deep ones and it’s getting worse quickly. If were are near the ‘end’, people remember to REPENT your sins. Non believers, do it just incase. It’s a relief reading that I’m not the only one feeling these seismic waves. Last night I felt around 10 while sleeping. It’s momentary intense ear pressure, and it feels like the energy just passes through you. It was really intense the weak before the Japan 9.0 quake. My dogs looked terrified two weeks before. Faults absolutely must travel from Japan to Phoenix AZ area by I10.
