Seismic tension still primed in the Ring of Fire

March 12, 2011 – JAPAN – The Japan earthquake was the fourth most powerful ever recorded with a magnitude of 9.1, twice more powerful than the initial estimate of 8.9, Gerard Fryer, geophysicist of the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, said this morning. Three others that were more powerful since the late 1800s when seismometers started measuring ground motions were in 9.5 in Chile in 1960, 9.2 in Alaska in 1964 and 9.1 in Sumatra in 2004, according to Fryer. The new magnitude was adjusted based on the impact of the quake throughout the Pacific, he said. “It fits all measurements, including in Hawaii,” Fryer said. The U.S. Geological Survey estimate of the quake’s magnitude is still 8.9. It is not uncommon for scientists to estimate different magnitudes immediately after an earthquake. –Star Advertiser

I saw that there are tsunami warnings still posted in Japan 6:16am ET due to the large aftershocks rocking Japan. Are we watching Japan literally being subducted? I have this awful feeling that they should evacuate the entire Island.

I agree with everyone else here, Mr. Conway,……get some rest.

( I have to admit, I have been ‘on post’ for years now because no one else in my family is paying any attention to the signs. It is exhausting, to say the least, to have to be this vigilant. Take care, AC. )

  Japan’s days as an island, along with all the many islands in the Pacific are numbered because the Ring of Fire is becoming hyper-kinetic and has the deepest faults, volcanic arcs, and zones on the planet along with some of the most dangerous active magma hot spots. Without exciting a cloud of fear, you will know when this is happening by paying attention to signs of geological change.   New Zealand is similarly awakening, as is Hawaii, Indonesia, and the Philippines, and some remote islands in the deep Atlantic.

  No, New Zealand is not in the Japanese state yet by any means…volcanic eruptions are not stirring. It’s the escalation of events in concert with massive shifts in tectonic plates that should be the warning sign. Enjoy your trip, Claudia.

I agree with the post regarding Japan, Hawaii, NZ, Indonesia and Philippines. My concern now is that the present damage may spark an event in YellowStone and further volcanic eruptions in Russia. The geological upheaval is not over yet. As long as the nuclear reactor is kept stable additional damage will remain ar a geological level. If there becomes a drastically low cooling system situation, as power is running in Japan, the risk is heightened (number 3 reactor, running on experimental fuel which contains plutonium) this issue may cause the disaster to become a world disaster – hence the domino-effect.

  Contains plutonium? Can you explain this further? Please. I was reading today that the Radiation could reach the US (west coast) in 10 days. I live on the East coast, shouldn’t we be prepared for this in some way? I have 6 children and 2 grandchildren, this is very upsetting. Thanks

  Lisa, that’s a good question. LISS appears to be off-line and stuck in its last reading. How much blacker than black can the readings become unless they’re stuck in that loop and the USGS reasoned that they’re undiscernable, which is more of a worry than the idea of suppression—because if this seismic tension doesn’t geologically unwind; we may have a disaster on our hands.

    Agreed, which is what I too am concerned about. I would feel better knowing one way or another, because if they still look like that today this is not over with, and we may indeed have a disaster on our hands worse than the current situation. The update in the tear in the earths crust is now 183 miles long and 90 miles wide according to FOX news.

Just started studying natural disasters, especially earthquakes over the last few months and how they relate to Bible prophecy. I too think we are on the verge of major changes. Just don’t quite understand why “alarm bells” aren’t being sounded by those that specialize in these fields. My prayer is that everyone turns to the Lord. Bible propehcy is being fulfilled right before our eyes. God said the generation living at the time Israel became a nation would not pass before seeing Christ’s return. They became a nation over 60 years ago, so surely it won’t be long.
