6.4 earthquake strikes south of the Fiji Islands in the South Pacific
February 20, 2011RUSSIA – A 5.9 downgraded earthquake has struck the eastern shore of the peninsula of Kamchatka at a depth of 9.3 km. The region is heavily populated with volcanoes and is capable of producing quakes in the 8 + magnitude. See volcanic chart below-
