Indonesian Apocalypse: Oceans boil, volcanoes stir, islands sinking

We glimpsed this current snapshot of the increasingly warm ocean waters surrounding Indonesia. Submarine volcanic activity is alive and well and warming the waters around the doomed archipelago. There are more than 129 active volcanoes on the Indonesian Isles and about 79 have erupted in historical times. Java is a relatively small island compared to Sumatra, but it has a higher concentration of active volcanoes. There are 45 active volcanoes on the island excluding 20 small craters and cones in the Dieng volcanic complex and the young cones in the Tengger caldera complex. Our story takes us to Northern Jakarta, Mangga Dua where the reports of unusually high tidal surges are increasing.
