If people do go live in these to get out of the way of things to come, what happens when their supplies run out and they have to survive up top, as it were. Do they have the knowledge and skills to live a more simpler lifestyle, have they procured heirloom seeds to grow veg, etc… That’s if if comes to that.

Tracey, My understanding is that there will be people with different trades so that if they are able to get to the ground level, there will be enough knowledge.
One of my sources tells me that here in the UK the government are preparing Marshall Law for 2012 and have already consulted all of the power companies. I can see the power companies turning off the power across the whole country just before the solar storm arrives. I think when the Major Solar Storms hits Earth in 2012, it will cause total havoc no matter what the power companies do or don’t do.

The Hopi have always turned to going into the earth for survival at the changing of the world. No one really knows what will be the right course of action. You just do what you feel drawn to. For me, Im a seed collector…
Ultimately I understand that if all prophecies come true as alluded to I and mine will likely not make it regardless of the preps we have done. The journey’s power lies in the walk to the destination, not the destination itself.

The last line of your post is beautiful, rings so true. I too have been collecting seeds (organic,non-suicide gene), and I am in the process of building a solar power system and solar genny for a greenhouse. I live way out in the country in the Blue Ridge Mountains, aka Appalacians. But I look at all of it as a good way to save money on grocery bills and power bills, because while my husband and I could survive a short crisis, say 3 months, in the long run, neither of us would survive a permanent shut down of society due to our medeical conditions. So I just don’t stress over the end, if it comes, it does. There are certainly enough things going on that many scenerios could happen, but what matters to me the now. I prepare to be self sufficient, not because i am scared of the end, but because it’s how I want to live now. The lifestyle of being simpler, in touch with nature, producing much of your own resources…it’s such a rewarding lifestyle. And, if need be, it will sustain us longer than people who rely completely on others will.

i have been researching for the last year on global food, oil and economic crash and the need for preparing and making a more self sustaining life. Out of all the thousands of words i have read yours make alot of sense i salute you sister you have helped me make some very important decsions. I wish i was around people like you as i have to walk with my misses alone because everyone thinks we are mad. respect and love

Cranberry, celebrities DO host Charity Balls, and are benefactors, and do unselfish acts, and they help the needy,especially animals, but the main thing they do is so very harmful, it nullifies the good they do: they make films that glamorize sin and the world buys into it. That brings much suffering and pain into the world. Those celebrities are icons and examples to millions unfortunately and by their bad examples and decadent films do far more harm than good. Every time they make a choice to put aside the Judeo-Christian values of their youth and sell on the big screen whatever is the latest fashion or lifestyle of the cult(ure), no matter how offensive, they bring painful consequences on mankind. They create millions of needy people, while flaunting their lifestyle, buffered as they are by their money, and assuaging their guilt by appearing to be generous. They also prop up, with their money, corrupt leftist politicians who want to “change” America from what made it great. Now, on the other hand, responsible “wealthy” Americans create jobs, pay most of the taxes, fight wars to keep us free, and are the backbone of this land. These are generalizations, insofar as they go, but basically true, whether or not the public believes it.

Good gracious. That place is an electricity guzzler! Who or what is going to be producing all that electric to be used in that flimsy looking space? Who will maintain the satellites it order to use the computers. How will that electric washer work? Where is the clothesline to hang stuff up to dry?
Where is the exercise place? Where are the kids toys? Nope that space won’t work for most of us, as planned. But if you take all almost all of the leisure type furnishings it could be adapted to be a useful place. Leave a few of those round tables with the lazy Susan in the middle and a few with flat tops, no lazy Susan … for work and cooking and craft and study areas. With a water supply, and waste disposal, and ventilation. Turn a few of those side rooms into storage for food stuffs and drink. Like the old medieval houses in Greenland and Iceland. They had pretty elaborate communal toileting rooms :-O With a lot of work, it might could become a home.

I looked into vivos…had 3 interviews. Problem is, they only will give graphics and artist renditions of the shelter. No real photos that show any of the preparations they have made. This should be a red flag. If I buy into something, I want to see real time photos…not a computer generated tour.

I think a good representation of life after the fall is the book The Last Babylon. First, you have to clear out (exterminate) the lower base of people in our society…and there are a LOT of them. Then you have to regroup and stick to hard rules for survival. The diseases will weed out a lot of survivors. It is unlikely survivors will be able to keep a nuclear reactor running for power, but you never know. As written in the bible..Those in the cities will die by the sword, those in the wilderness will die by the wild animal, and those under the ground will die by disease. And make no mistake, your gold will not save you. Good luck.
