Sounds like they are testing our security, which can’t be good for us. And they went undected for weeks too..wow.

Seems security needs to be hiked up abit eh…

No warm fuzzy feeling here. That actually bothers me a whole lot.

“The fact that the Akula was not detected in the Gulf is cause for concern, U.S. officials said.”
Really, wow. This is the best that can come out of the mouth of US officials. Astonishing. I’ve got an idea, instead of telling us it is cause for concern, why don’t you actually catch the submarines before they are right off our coast!

Perhaps it was because we were one nuclear sub short during that time due to the fire in the shipyard. I am sure that the news of that sub being out of commission for awhile left us free to be preyed upon.

I don’t know if the USCG has outfitted its new Homeland Security cutters with ASW capabilities but if not, why not, and why not this is the reason. Get some desk admirals on board a ship after loss of one or two ranks and have them start doing some grunt work.

Maybe the Union Jack at the front fooled them? Another chance to blame Obama eh? It could not of course have anything to do with the crooked banks for stealing the money in the first place? Make them pay!!!!!

Nice….does’nt that speak volumes? Twice that we “know of”, Russia is trying to find our weak points, and I doubt that it is without reason. Here in Louisiana we have all this oil and gas, not to mention the shipping that goes on and the salt mines….a good target by any standard…I feel unsafe and unprotected here now!

I kinda doubt that the Russian Sub and the man getting onto the runway at JFK Airport were, in fact, not detected. With all the sophisticated equipment installed since 9/11 and the gulf oil spill, it does not make logical sense. However, it is a good way to get everyone’s attention and more $$$ for their budgets. Don’t know for a fact but just struck me as very funny…

That’s what nuclear subs do is prowl each other’s coastlines; most within the 200 nautical mile ee zones of domain.

This is exactly what I think!!! How convenient that it went “undetected”. Hogwash. Too convenient.

Yes I find it interesting that this sort of item hits the mainstream media when the military is facing cutbacks in funding. Nothing new about subs patrolling along coast lines……… they have been playing the cat and mouse game for decades.
This is propaganda and designed to get the average American thinking the military needs more money, not less.

Bobi and everybody,
We knew that the sub was there, don’t let propaganda fool you. You are exactly right about wanting more money.

If they did not detect the sub until it left …. How do they know it was there for a couple of weeks????

Very good point!! Actually I was glad someone said what i was thinking.

I busted out laughing at that!!!! If a sub lurks in the waters, and no one is there to see it, was it really ever there? Ha!!

Only the second time since 2009 ? HOW DO THEY KNOW.. could have been 20 times and they just got lucky this time albeit after the fact. I wonder if this is why A.A. Allen saw the statue of Liberty in the Gulf of Mexico during his vision from 1954?

Allen was a life-long alcoholic/drug addict whose “visions” mostly occurred during binges. I wouldn’t give him much credibility, though each to their own I suppose.

Thanks pagan66. I will take into account that possibility, although visions of so much structure and detail usually come from the eternal world either from good or evil. I appreciate your thoughts on this.

you people are so compliant its frightening, what I mean by that is the US navy is about to suffer cuts to its budget, what better way to avoid this than by this so called report, this is a total stooge
report by the US military!, all designed to keep their excessive and unwarranted funding,

That makes sense. Accept something states like this would get the Free Beacon in serious hot water unless they where paid by the military to do exactly what you state. I guess it time to believe in nothing that is man. Right?

The UK have had those Russian Subs operating less than 11 miles away from our Trident Nuclear sub base in Scotland over the last 32 years now, they a decoding the noise our UK & USA subs make from what I am told, and the West have nothing as advanced as yet.

The UK has a few new toys but thanks to recent budget cuts the UK’s naval systems are a little dated..

We do have a very good costal surveillance and emergency responce system although its a shame they got rid of Kinloss, the AWAC systems on the nimrod are needed for superior air surveillance.
Stupid budget cuts…

That’s what slashing military budgets do: they eliminate the best systems and reduce the efficacy of the military to perform it’s primary function, national defense. Of course, those budgets need to be spent wisely, and any part of the system that is draining funds for little or no return should be re-examined and either brought into line or eliminated.

While people acrying out for and saying “peace” we are heading rapidly toward the opposite, war. Only this time it won’t be some small war in one country, but a jaor global conflict that will be the beginning of the end of humanity running its own affairs and botching the job. I’m very grateful that the Lord has promised to return and end all of this! And in direct relation to the Russian sub incursion, as a Navy man who served on an antisubmarine warfare frigate, I will say that now is NOT the time to further slash the defense budget and reduce our forces.

Of course it is not the first time and it will not be the last time.
We have done it for years to the Russians and to the Chinese and whosoever.
Is it possible that this sub has super silent gyro gears turning its propeller and the propeller itself could have been a design to min noise as it spins?
Or it could have a propulsion system similar to that of the soviet missile boat portrayed in Red October. And then again it could a be stolen US propulsion design.
It has been said that the electric/diesel type sub is the quietest.
I wonder if the drilling in the gulf of mexico might had had interfered with this subs detection.
Many questions, thoughts, only one answer, not good for our security……

It’s just an old trick to suck more money for the military.
In Israel, my country of origin, the military is constantly crying for more money.
You see, they (the army) are constantly being “spied-on” by the bad guys.
Do we, the citizens of the world, really sincerely believe that they should get more money for more arms?
Or, should we say: Hey, enough is enough!

Ok, so here is a video that at first looks unrelated. It is 2 parts – both well worth the listen. However, as it pertains to this topic – PLEASE listen to the beginning of part two – when I heard this I just intuitively knew these are related. Amazing information. Really interesting. http://shiftfrequency.com/susanne-posel-false-flag-computer-banking-virus-to-roll-out-martial-law-video/ or find it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0X9wza3YDLs&feature=em-uploademail

A brief example of how quiet the old diesel/electric subs were: while on maneuvers off the coast of California, and while we were using the most sensitive listening gear available at the time (late 70s), one of the last diesel/electric boats in the US Navy got in close enough to register what would have been a kill shot on my frigate. The US and Russia have both been working industriously at developing ever quieter subs. Interestingly, some of the quietest subs currently in the world’s arsenal are the “boomers”, the subs armed with nuclear missiles; it is a survival skill for them since they are the primary targets for attack subs.

In Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War”, Master Sun advises: “A military operation involves deception. Even though you are competent, appear to be incompetent. Though effective, appear to be ineffective.”
I wonder if there is not an element of disinformation in all of this. As the source article explains, Russia has plans to “export” this class of submarine to South America and Cuba, hence a “motive” for entering/patrolling US waters: bragging rights. So maybe we knew that they were there all along but did nothing (publicly) so that Russia will go ahead with its economic plans and fill the Gulf with subs that we can track, find, and destroy, at will, should the need arise.
BUT, in another chapter of the same book, Master Sun warns: “It is never beneficial to a nation to have a military operation continue for a long time,” and we have botched that twice in recent history (Vietnam and Afghanistan), so I may be optimistic to suggest that our appearance of incompetence. . .is just appearance.

This is why we don’t get up in Russia’s grill to much. The U.S. knows when it comes to subs, Russia has them beat. And America has a lot of major cities on coastlines.

You are very wrong. US subs do not dive as fast, but they are much quieter, better; even true after the Russian stole critical propeller design technology and software. American skippers have been known to trail Russian subs for weeks undetected. Read the book called, “Blind Mans Bluff”. Russia’s navy is backward compared to that of Western fleets, especially the US.

I love the part where U.S officials suggest that the Russian submarine was only built for one purpose…to attack the U.S ballastic missile subs and there crews! The day they stop scaring us (my ballastic missle is longer than yours, type attitude), it would be the day the world starts to restore peace. No peace will ever be restored if countries always need to create a better weapon! Just a thought…Can they try creating better relations!
LikeLike
Building better relations is always a noble goal, but the reality is that some nations, just like people, only listen to reason when they understand that the other party has the strength to back themselves up. Teddy Roosevelt’s quote about walking softly but carrying a big stick comes to mind, and his words are very applicable today.

No question about it…the Russians expect a war and are preparing for it. The moment USA get involved in an attack on Syria or Iran, Russians and Chinese will attack. They have said it many times before and they mean it.

Roger that nanoduck, i remember a guy named Dumitri Duduman getting some intel from the highest source on this scenerio back in the early 80s. Wrote a book on it called “Through the fire without burning”. I realised after i had read the book that Christianity in America was “way week” and that only tribulation could shake it out of its present hallucinations.
LikeLike
James, that tribulation will be the winnowing of the chaff from the wheat and is practically upon us. And I agree with your “strength estimate” of the American church; it has been far too busy chasing the illusory prosperity and too little in following after Christ in spirit and truth.

Russia has been spying on our coastlines since the Cold War, so this is nothing new. But what is new is the timing! Russia has a bone to pick with us after we help humiliate them in Afghanistan to the whole world. What people don’t know, was back in 2008 during our Wall Street and bank bailouts, the world rally behind us, not wanting to pull out of their investments in our country. But!! Russia asked the world to pull out and let us fail, but China said no because they carry so much of our debt and have to much investment in us. But Russia was insisted and really push hard to let us fall. Russia does not like us, just look at Putin and Obama at their last meeting. The vibe looked so bad it looked like one of them cheated on other wife. I was waiting for one of them to swing- it was that bad. Never have I seen anything like that in my life between world leaders. War is coming, it’s going to happen, because God said it will happen (Revelation). Russia is in Israel’s backyard in Syria with troops and they are watching our coastline looking for weak points just in case they have to act in a desperate measure.

Jay that is a very interesting observation between Obama and Putin. I have to agree that they are testing their limits and showing their stealth.

Well said, Jay. Putin seems bent on restoring at least a part of the Soviet style to his government of Russia; maybe he figures he can do what China did and allow some degree of economic freedom while retaining the apparatus of a leftist dictatorship. As I have been saying for the past 20 years, just because they are playing nice now doesn’t mean that they will be tomorrow, and they haven’t necessarily been playing all that nice lately.

What I find a bit unusual, along with the others… how did they know, if it was not detected, till after it left… did russia call and say, guess what we just did?
The other thing is, if you and the others recall, just a couple months ago we had Russia’s paratroopers training with us here in Colorado….hmmm, this is just WEIRD….another “False Flag” ?? who knows… I will continue to prepare for the worse and pray for the best, as I would highly recommend the rest of the EP readers do the same..
Thanks

I read today that Russia was interested in buying part of BP’s operation they are looking to sell in the gulf. Not trusting the USA or BP’s story on the condition of the gulf they sent the sub along with scientists on board’ They are reporting the state of the gulf as catostrophic and that the well head is still leaking, They also clam to have detected navy ships dumping thousands of gallons of dispersant at the well which was taken off course by hurricane Earnesto and was the cause of the fish kill in Galviston this past weekend. True?? I dont know what to believe anymore.
