Italian PM warns of the break-up of the Eurozone and the European Union

August 6, 2012 – ROME - The big news this morning is coming from an interview Italy’s Mario Monti gave to German magazine Der Spiegel, in which he warned that growing Italian resentment against Germany risks the break-up of not just the eurozone but the European Union itself. He said the eurozone tensions “bear the traits of a psychological dissolution of Europe,” adding that Europe “must work hard to contain it.” Asked about a strengthening in resentment between the allegedly profligate southern European nations and the bloc’s thrifty northern members, Monti told Der Spiegel “it is very alarming, and we have to fight against it. Yes, there is a front line in this area between north and south, there are reciprocal prejudices,” according to AP’s report of the interview. In the meantime, tensions between Germany and Italy appear to be on the rise. The news comes after an Italian newspaper splashed its front page on a photo of Angela Merkel with her arm raised and the headline “Quarto Reich.” Meanwhile, in an op-ed in Germany’s Bild Romano Prodi, a former Italian prime minister and president of the EU Commission, urged Germany to show “true leadership” in steering the continent through the crisis, saying the bloc’s biggest economy has the duty “to lead Europe toward a better future.” If Germany fails to lead through the crisis, it “would be the political end, for Europe and for Germany,” he insisted, urging Berlin to present a “clear action plan to achieve a democratic, federally structured Europe.” It is important to note that il Giornale is owned by Berlusconi. –Guardian

They also evolved from the racist radicals, although we all know some sort of racism exist everywhere. They warned with scientific accurancy that this was coming and commited to work hours and national insurance that the world now envies BUT WOULD NOT MIMIC due to head-strong principles. Germany is steering the EU through the crisis, but the south refuse to listen and continue to support the international sucking of their economy. Now they (Greece and Italy) are attacking immigrants or ANY PEOPLE OF COLOR. Good part, they found the illigals and are deporting them. Bad part, a lot “whites” are using this to attack their own citizens due to racism. Greece and Italy has been multi-color for a long, long time. If this practice continues, then the Arab Spring will take hold in those places becuase people of color will feel no choice and will not lie down to die. The solution in simple. Document yourself and stop the double-talk. Stand for your country and stop calling it imperialism, socialism when some slick rich “B” comes along flashing his money and pays you to do so. Only whores jump to those types people’s will. I am not a whore.

Resentment is increasing day by day across the world and especially in America. When I look at the comments on yahoo all I see is Democrats and Rebublicans bashing each other.

  @Peter. I see the same thing which is why I pretty much stopped reading comments on articles. I stick with TEP. Too many people have dug their heels in the sand and refuse to work together. As a result, it will all collapse while they continue to clutch each other throats.

    Answering your question df, yes it has always been this bad but only when you where poor did you experience it. Now that poverty has it’s grip on 50% of us, it has become more visible. The new middle class is now making 250K or more but less than 1 million. I dare say that most of the people I know do not generate that kind of income. Some, but not most unless they are married with a combined income.

  You’re so right! I swear I can’t get on Facebook without seeing people on both sides tearing each other to pieces. It’s unsettling with what they say to one another or about politicans and I just stop reading. It’s the same like you said with comments on yahoo, NBC, etc. I’m in my early 20s and I wonder like df has it always been this bad?

What is scary, is during WWII, it was just one nation (Germany) who were ruled by extreme facism; now it is reappearing, but in many other nations….

  you are very sharp on what you see, and it is in the United States also. if the U.S. falls to communism/fascism then it’s all over with for the world. there is no other nation on the planet with any moral or ethical standards then can take its place. they have all gone the way Cain.

Shure peter is correct. The producing Makers in the USA are resentful of those Taking parasites. Many vote for whoever will give them the most from the public coffers, There isnt any real difference between the republican & democrat partys. Neither party will practice fiscal responsibility.

  Yes, Peter and Skeptical are correct. But what happen when a third/fourth/fifth party emerge? The answer is you give the Dems and Reps more power becuase you diluted the pool of power. Again, best bet is to vote for Socialism/Democrats for now. At least the rich will be stopped from taking the free ride on the 99 percenter’s backs and pay their fair share. Trickle down is half right. Trick.

It all comes back to MONEY. The Americans, bless them, started importing goods from China and the Far East ‘cos the profit margin was higher. Bang goes the US manufacturing. The mortgage explosion was due to banks looking to make more MoNEY, and the Eurozone would have no problems if it had stayed at a COMMON MARKET level and not tried to go along with a ‘one size fits all’ COMMON CURRENCY! Money is truly the root of all evil! Wish I had some!
