6.1 magnitude earthquake strikes south of Kermadec Islands

October 7, 2011KERMADECA 6.1 magnitude earthquake has struck south of the Kermadec Islands at a depth of 40 km. The epicenter of the earthquake was 106 km (65 miles) S of L’Esperance Rock, Kermadec Islands, and 762 km (473 miles) NE of Auckland, New Zealand. No tsunami warnings were issued and there have been no initial reports of damage.The Extinction Protocol
